Andiamo owners plan to open French-style bistro in downtown Detroit

A new American and French-style bistro is planned for the ground floor of the new City Club Apartments CBD in downtown Detroit.
The Statler
Bistro, named after the historic Statler hotel that once occupied the site, is expected to open in January, according to the Joe Vicari Restaurant Group.
Offering 175 seats, The Statler Bistro will occupy half of the first floor of the City Club Apartments building on Washington Boulevard near Grand Circus Park. A large outdoor patio seating area is also planned.

The restaurant will offer American and French cuisine amid an interior featuring European flair, according to a news release from the Joe Vicari Restaurant Group.
Along with the bistro, there will be a market with groceries and packaged meals available.

“We are excited to bring this new concept to the city of Detroit,” John Vicari, vice president of the Joe Vicari Restaurant Group, said in the release. “We think our vision for a great American and French bistro, coupled with an amazing market, will be something that will be well received in the market.”
The French bistro will be the 22nd restaurant for the
group that operates the widely known Andiamo Italian and Joe Muer Seafood restaurants, as well as
Brownies on the Lake, The Country Inn locations and 29/41 Mediterranean Street Food.
City Club Apartments CBD Detroit is in the pre-leasing stage. The site is being developed by Jonathan Holtzman’s Farmington Hills-based City Club Apartments.
“We are thrilled to have Joe Vicari opening The Statler Bistro at CCA CBD Detroit,” Holtzman, City Club Apartments chairman and founder, said in a statement.
“This is exactly what we had envisioned for this historic site.”
The property features
288 apartments, as well as penthouses. The site was home to the 800-room Statler Hotel, which opened in 1915.
Apartment amenities offered in the upscale building will include concierge services, underground valet parking,
an indoor/outdoor pool, a dog park and an outdoor movie theater.
Premier Pet Supply is also expected to be a first-floor tenant.
